NAW Building Services recently completed a full renovation and extension on our period property in Alderley Edge. We instructed our architects to modernise, whilst retaining existing features and Nick’s team executed exceptionally well. The property slopes from back to front which created several challenges – all of which were discussed at length between myself and my wife and the right outcome was achieved throughout the project. Nick has an extensive network of suppliers and contractors - in addition to building contractors and ground workers (who redesigned our patio and driveway) Nick was able to recommend interior service providers such as kitchen designers, tilers and wooden floor suppliers - all of the highest quality. The job was bespoke and this was reflected in some aspects of the price (which in our case was carried out though the backdrop of Covid with several supply challenges). Overall a great result - would highly recommend.

I first came across NAW Reynolds – and Nick Reynolds - in 2009, when I was extending my property, which entailed a significant remodelling and extension of the kitchen, main lounge, 2 additional bedrooms and 2 new en-suite bathrooms It was a major project, which lasted 6 months Nick was chosen from a large number of builders who wished to tender. He provided a detailed breakdown of estimated costs, and advised me that he would be project managing on a daily basis his team of bricklayers, joiners, electricians and plumbers The project was completed on time, and to budget. I wanted to see progress on the project on a daily basis, and by close management of his team, Nick ensured that was the case The best reference that I can provide is that 10 years later I undertook a rebuild of my garage, which entailed designing and building a new office suite, along with a separate kitchen, bedroom and wet room I had no hesitation in asking Nick to undertake the project, and it was completed in exactly the same manner as the first one I have no hesitation in recommending NAW Reynolds as Quality Builders, who deliver on their promises.

Nick helped with knocking down my garage and building a 2 storey extension to the side of my semi detached house. He came and gave me a competitive quote and promised me that he would not add on. He kept to the quote and his co workers who came, particularly Jason and Mark were fantastic. Nick helped me source a new kitchen and put me in touch with people who could help with flooring etc. The quality of work done is excellent and I would definitely recommend Nick for any building/ extension work. We love the extra space that we now have.

NAW conducted an extensive new build house for us in a traditional Derbyshire style. We are delighted with the outcome and the quality of build by NAW. Their attention to detail and the quality of the build is second to none, and they have been cooperative to work with throughout. The tradespeople they brought into the project were all individually the best in class, and remained consistent throughout the project, with special mention to the stone masons, joiners and decorators who went above and beyond and took an obvious pride in their work. Although there were predictably ups and downs across a project of this size, Nick dealt with these reasonably and rationally and was always open to a frank discussion and a mutually acceptable solution.

We appointed Nick as our builder/project manager back in February. Progress on the project has exceeded all expectations so far and we are impressed by the organisation, efficiency and professionalism in all aspects of the project. We were expecting the construction to be a stressful experience, but this has not materialised. Nick has project managed the build and offered solutions to any potential issues with minimal fuss whilst being mindful of our budgetary limits. Nick and his team have also made some fantastic suggestions to help provide a more impressive finish to the extension. We receive regular updates as to the progress of works and there have been no issues with any of the contractors on site. Nick also takes care of all correspondence with the buildings inspectors. The quality of work/finish is exemplary to date, with no issues raised over any works completed. In summary we have no hesitation in recommending Nick to anyone.

The scope of the build was to provide a four meter single storey extension across the rear of the property. By truncating a section of the old lounge gave a lovely large kitchen family room with extensive bifold doors, wood stove and lantern. In addition a large utility room, larder and cloakroom were included. NAW Reynolds Lyd. provided all disciplines (ie civils, steelwork, brickwork, joinery, plumbing and electrical) ensuring an extension constructed to the highest standards.

The biggest worries we had before we undertook our first major renovation project (c.£300k), which included the building of a new build garage and extension with both structural and renovation works, were costs, manging the project and the quality of the work. Nick was excellent on all three, which given we were in a Pandemic and having supply chain issues as a result of Brexit was really impressive. We live in an old house dating back to c.1850’s so were expecting to find a surprise or two. When we did, Nick always knew what to do, discussed the problem with us and got it sorted. At no point did I feel costs were being added for the sake of it, there were always clear and obvious reasons for variations. Nick didn’t get involved in the building work, meaning he could focus on managing the project, and he did a fantastic job of this from the first time we met him. He was always very responsive when trying to get hold of him, never going quiet, which gave us great reassurance. The standard of work was always very high, driven by Nick and his fantastic team and we would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking to complete a renovation project.
